About me

While between jobs, my daughters’ principal asked if I would be interested to shadow a pre-school boy. By my second week of work the boy’s teacher realized he did not need a shadow. His mother came up with a new idea that would greatly help her.  She offered me a job organizing her medical and insurance files. 
 
She was so pleased with my work, I was then asked to help her organize her bedrooms, her kitchen and pantry, her living room and dining room, family room, closets, attic, basement. Boom!  The house was efficient, organized, and too large for two people. Next I helped her stage her home, select a new home, coordinate the move and organize her new tiny house.

 
I soon took on some more clients. I was having such a good time organizing and introducing efficient systems, and I looked forward to my work like never before.

At that time, I did not know there was a name for this job that had found me. A friend told me that she was a professional organizer and that she belonged to the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). She invited me to join her for their next monthly meeting.

The NAPO meeting is the best source to learn something new that I can adopt into my work as well as interact with other dynamic, intelligent, friendly professional organizers. 

Being a nurturer, I always wanted to help people. I may have been helpful in my past jobs but not until I became a professional organizer could I feel that each time I meet with a client I am of great help to them. I work patiently with clients as they make decisions, some big and some small. I fully support them as they work through this difficult process. They may have been beaten down and blue when I arrived, but by the time I leave they are telling me a weight has been lifted off of their shoulders. 
 
iDeclutter became an LLC in 2012 and is fully insured. I am a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and attend monthly meetings. In 2015 and 2016 I was recognized for my volunteer work with NAPO.
